Guys over the next few days I am going to be having a fiddle with the Reputation system on the forum.
This is so to make it a little harder to get higher reps and give people a little more to fight for..
When I first set it up I think I set the parameters up to be too soft.
Anyway, basically just to say that reputations will be lowered (overall score) however you will not lose any of the comments that have been left for you. In other words, everyones rep will be coming down a bit. (For example if you had a rep of 500 it may come down to something like 200 or whatever I finally go with..)
If anybody notices anything strange with their rep over the next few days, please bear with me!
All maintenance should be done within a few days,
Thanks..

My own opinion would be to make it extremely difficult (ie. raise the standards big) to gain a reputation bar, should help to promote useful comments within the forum.

My reputation has gone form 2 green bar to red -73 points. I think you should at least reset to neutral instead of pulling people into the negatives when you made the changes. This way it does not appear to others as if the have a bad rep which they dont really deserve and could take a while to get the feedback up again? Just a thought.
thanks,
Adam

walshy69, as I said in your PM..
You were in red before I changed the rep system as I have checked your comments. The negative rep was given to you on the 11th Feb way before I even touched started adjusting the settings.
Now because the reps are coming down it will mean some people will lose reputation scores (ie Green Dots) but for me to manually adjust everyones reputation would take too long and not be fair for the community.
I guess you will just have to wait and see what your rep looks like when I am finished sorting out the rep system and then work hard to get those positive rep points back in. One would presume that you got the negative for a good reason and that is something I cannot remove..
HTH

I have tons of positive reputation points (that I can see in my profile) however they don't count as they were posted by new members (according to Anthony). So sadly, I'm stuck at 3 bars . Would it be possible to allow new members to post positive rep points?
