'Selling of Supplier Lists' - No longer permitted!
From today the 'sale of supplier information' is no longer permitted on the forum.
The past few weeks has seen some rather unsavoury advertisements of sellers trying to profit from the sale of suppliers. The one user in question that I will not publicly refer to, but whom most of you will know has been removed as a seller on the forum and was later found to have multiple user accounts which led to a permanent ban from the community. I advise those people with active transactions with that user to cancel them as he will no longer have any access to the forum.
As much as I appreciate that the sale of suppliers is a commodity that some feel people should pay for, myself and the moderators believe that it is not an ethical activity that the forum should condone.
What you must ask yourself, and this goes for the sale of suppliers across the wholesale industry is why the seller is selling them. If they had such a good supplier and they are making X from them each week, why on earth would they want to increase competition any further by selling the details to you? (I'll let you conclude the answer to that and lots of similar questions!)
Further more, due to the nature of our community and with the various levels of experience we have here, I don't think its right to let some of the less experienced members be subjected to these 'supplier sales'.
Once again I prompt people to get in touch if a member of this forum tries to 'sell' them supplier information as it is now against forum rules. I should say that we encourage members to exchange supplier details and help other members out with links to suppliers, but on a non-profit level.
