How is the new server?
I'm curious to see how members are finding the new server we are now operating on. I have only in the last few hours had my location propagate the DNS changes, so I've actually not long been able to see the new server. Some of you I see managed to access the new server just a few hours after we migrated it to the new nameservers! (Many of you won't have even noticed the change!)
I must say everything seems pretty sharpish with page load times and database queries like I have never had the luxury to appreciate before. Having done a ping test, I'm getting around half the response time (ms) of that the previous server offered.

Not only is the new server more powerful, it's located in the UK which is something that our UK members will be very pleased about. How is it in the US and other countries? It may be a little slower as the server is now located outside of the US, however, it's considerably more powerful than it's predecessor (Specification wise).
It would be great to hear some feedback, good or bad of course.
Thanks!

Hi,
I for one completely forgot that the server change over was being made! To be fair i haven't seen any changes at all not a bad thing to be honest everything seems to be working smoothly and quickly as always

Well it seems faster in loading times to me, but is that my new computer or the server?

It happened a lot quicker than I expected it to, I for one was worried we might be out of action for 24hrs +, thankfully it seems that many managed to access the forum earlier today or even this morning. Extremely surprising as we only set things in motion around midnight last night!

It could be a mixture of both.

Anthony, you know if there is something negative it will come from pete.
Much slower for me.
When I click on a topic in the menu it takes a bit for the top header to come up, and then I get a white screen below the header for some time. I never had that before.
It's just like a pause. Header, white screen then the rest of the page.
Sorry.
