I think it would be nice to have a template for the for sale and wanted forums where people just have to fill in the blanks to describe the product they are selling or looking for.


For example, someone wants to buy a lot of Xbox 360's. In the forums he/she writes: Looking for Xboxes, anyone knows someone that sell them?

As you see, it doesn't give much information and people have to ask questions like:
- How many do you want
- Where are you located
- What kind of power supply...
- etc...

If we had a template and the buyer just had to fill in the blanks, it would go like this (bold is template):

Product		   : Xbox 360
Information	   : Latest firmware
Shipped to 	   : The Netherlands

Qty needed	   : 20
Target price	   : n/a
Version		   : Japanese
Powersupply/charger: 220volt / 2 pongs

For the for sale forum it would look a little different, of course. I think that all great minds here can come up with something nice that suits most of us.

Of course, it must be possible that parts or the complete template can be removed from each new post/edited post.

do you mean that when you go into the wanted section it comes up with like 10 boxes, each with ads or induvidual theads with the template in the thread, either way, its a very good idea

you would probably have to post firmware etc, also the template would have to cover all aspects like shipping, payment method preferred etc,

Nice idea, I'll have a think about the best way to maybe implement it.

The template is only for the first post in a new thread. When you start a new thread, it defaults with some text, like you can see in my first post in this thread (see code part).

Yeah, that's the idea.

Maybe it is possible to choose from a set of templates. A product description for jeans don't need firmware and a product description for xboxes don't need 'size'.
