40GB PS3 does NOT play PS1/2 Games or dvds only blu ray media will work. No other differance just the hdd.

SO really you need to get an 80 gig one then if you want to play your old ps2 Games then

or dvd's Sony GOt you by then Short on Curlys then

I don't care about PS2 games pesonaly i got much more PS3 games now better quality.

The 40GB has less USB ports (only two) and they have no wired internet connection capability.
