Ideas wanted please?
Any ideas as to what would sell well would be appreciated, maybe if your sucuessful, you can give me a few ideas. I am wondering whether it would be more profitable to specialize in something, or to generalize. Do i sell on ebay, or would it be better if i had my own website? I like ebay, although i have never sold on there, but have been afraid to dabble in selling cause of the horror stories that i have been told.
Answers on a postcard please ......

Nobody can tell you what to sell, you need to sell something you're happy selling, comfortable with and have a bit of knowledge about.
However, this method doesn't always work as you can't always purchase the goods you want to sell, e.g. LV bags, so you might have to sell what you have accesss to, at least to start off with.
Final decision is up to you but if you cannnot even make the decision on what to sell I wouldn't chuck your bread and butter job just jet.

Yeah, i 100% agree with Nocternal
However, i good start is to look at the 'hot' items on Ebay. This may not be your medium for selling, but it will give you an indication into what is currently hot to sell.
You could possibly use this to idedntify a product or products.
However, as Nocturnal correctly states, others cant tell you what to sell. Its personal prefernce. I would go as far as saying that in some ways you need to be passionate about what you are selling.
Also, if i have ever been stuck for ideas, i look into products that i am interested in myself, thinking on the guidelines that if you want it, others will too.
Hope this helps

Thanks guys, i had never really thought of looking at the 'hot items' on ebay. Its a sure fire way of finding out how much demand there is for certain products.... Thanks for the tips. Then i just have to find a supplier. I have done a search on the net for wholesale goods, but didnt find them all that cheap to be honest.
I bought the magazine from WH Smith last month 'The Trader' but wasnt impressed with it. I have also had a look in my local Makro, but i doubt if i could buy and sell from there as i dont think the profit margin would be very good.
As suggested, i wont give up the day job yet (if by any chance i had one )
Thanks, from one heck of a bored, skint houswife. Who cant spell by the looks of it!!

check the going going gone section of ebay . This will show you what is selling . Once you find this out you can decide what to sell. Check the power sellers....what are they selling????? They're a powerseller for a reason , right?
that's how I decide where the trend is headed next.... hope that helps.....

I once read a tip which said deal in what you know, for example if you were always buying designer accessories you would have some know how, or perhaps DVD's, or something to do with a hobby ?
I suppose it would be easier to deal in a product you knew about, if you know what I mean !

I agree with everything thats been said so far, at the end of the day its down to you to choose what you want to sell, you have to be commited as you'll not succeed if you do a half assed job
Bare in mind that the Electronics area such as DVDs, Mobile Phones etc. is a highly competitive area, there are ALOT of people out there selling in this area, where as Clothing and especially Lingerie are still farely open markets in comparison. So just have a look at how much competition there is around.
Don't let competition discourage you though, if you know your stuff when it comes to electronics, get in there, use your knowledge to your advantage. But its always worthwhile looking at competition and how saturated the market is in certain areas.
Hope that helped
