Default opening clothes shop /Cheetham Hill Manchester-Advice Please

Hi

Im looking to open a clothes shop in the Yorkshire area and am looking for advice on wholesalers. I am aiming to sell unbranded cheap ladies fashion ie: Leggings, Jeans, Tunic Dresses, fasionable pieces similar trends to high street.

I have noticed there seems to be alot of wholesalers in the Cheetham Hill area of Manchester but haven't a clue where to start.

Firstly, as there are so many and nearly all without websites, how do I know what they sell without visiting each wholesaler which would take days.

Also how do I aproach wholesalers?

And lastly, do I have to go all the way to Manchester? Are there similar areas in Leeds or Sheffield?

thanks guys xx

My advice would be to invest in the train fare and go visit them, Cheetham Hill is the place to go and building a relationship with the wholesalers is the best approach. Pretty much anything (clothing wise) you wish to source can be got there and there are some exceptionally good sellers down that stretch near to the prison!

Its been a few years since I went down but when I last did you had the option of walking in, may be worth while looking for the numbers and seeing what they say..

Your only a 2 hour drive away. For what you are asking for you need to visit the suppliers.See and test the quality/styles for yourself.Plenty of suppliers round the cheetham hill rd,bury new rd and lower broughton areas.

Just reread this bit of your post, and ARA is def. worth a try. They specialise in unbranded ladies clothing, and are cheap as they have clothes made for them. No middle men. I was in touch with them last year about clothes and they said that a lot of their clothing from their factories goes onto m&s and debenhams.
their clothing company is called something like knitwear ltd or something....i'll try and find an invoice for you.. and get their details
