I have many emails in my inbox from distributors and wholesalers but they all want to see me resellers license, business license, sellers license, state seller #, etc....

are all of these the same, from what I understand all i need is an EIN(already obtained), and a business license which should be issued to me at the local level?

my only help online is a site which you pay extra and you choose business license and then you can print the forms from there, but they are doing dirty work for me and costing me much more...

Where can I find these forms online? Or where in my local community?

In different states the forms are clled different things.

Here are the 3 things they may want to see. Just give them all 3 and let them sort it out -

Maybe your SSN or EIN - federal numbers.

Your Sales Tax account / exemption number. they may cakk it reseller number, etc.

Your Business License. A few states issue them, most are local.

That's it! Just tell them - here is my federal number, here is my sales tax number and here is my business license.

Most don't really care. They just want to know you are not a retail buyer trying to buy at wholesale.

If those 3 don't work call thme up and ask just what it si they want. You're making much more out of this then you need to.

most wholesalers and distributors mainly ask for the business license.. the only link pertaining to that was www.sbfaq.com which only had links for alabama and alaska...

thanks for the help guys i really appreciate it! For the sellers / resellers license http://www.skipmcgrath.com/articles/salestax.shtml led me to everything for my state, as for the business license, if a distributor is not content with the EIN and resellers license, il find my towns building for the business license, but at this point i think im good. thank you

For a business license,contact your City Hall licensing department.A lot of cities may have the forms online.

Just a comment. Be careful to whom you give your EIN, sales tax license etc... It's like giving your SSN and mother's maiden name.

Last year I had a guy trying to use my business' information to apply for 2 wholesale accounts and 1 credit card with Chase. Fortunately the guy used our main office phone number Imagine the damage he could do

Later we realized that one company we were trying to get products information asked us to provide these information then disappeared.

Now, we are very very careful.
