Hi buddies,

There is a big electronic fair will be held in HK from April 12-14,2008, and Canton fair follows up.

It is a great chance to see thousands of electronic manufacturers from mainland China, HK, Taiwan, and other countries under one roof.

If you have contacts with some Chinese suppliers, you may also take this chance to visit them after the fair.

I wonder if there're any guys interested in visiting China in groups. I could help you make some reservations or assist you when you're in China.

Earlier birds get the worms.

Cbeebies i will be more than interested to attend the canton fair. I have been told its the biggest fair in china. What is this HK fair on 12 april. Can you guide me how many days are enough to get hold of good suppliers mainly in the electronic business. What should be the budget of the whole trip. I have been to beijing before i have seen 5 star hotels are very cheap compared with other cities of the world. I stayed in crown plaza which was around 110 dollars per night. So I would like to stay in 5 or a 4 star. Can you tell me the estimates of trip and its worth.

Lucky for me one of my suppliers in China is paying for my trip

For anyone thinking of going, a word of warning. Don't do what i do and experience the HK nightlife until you have visited the show(s)and done your business.

Regarding to the canton fair, electronics products usually show during Phase 1:April.15th -20th or Oct.15th -20th. The following web sites are possibly useful.
http://www.cantonfair.org.cn/en/index.asp
http://www.8fair.com/en/index.htm
We will attend the coming canton fair as a manufacturer and exporter, but during the Phase 2:April.25th-30th

About the electronic fair, I am not familiar, is it the following?

Are you staying with friends/family?If not you really need to book a hotel soon.Like anywhere prices do go up at event time.We had to commute on the train one year due to not booking a hotel.

Thank you for your guys input.

As redsky said, you really need to book a hotel earlier for any event time. You can go to www.elong.com (a NASDAQ listed Chinese company) to see the kinds of hotel price. For example, a 4-star hotels rate from RMB279 (about EUR28), that's a winter promotion sales. In Canton fair time, even a 3-star or 2-star hotel may increase the price to EUR50.

Earlier plan will help you get a decent price on flight ticket and hotel bookings, not mention a professional assistant from China.

Question No.1.
Answer: It depends on your plan. Normally, I would suggest 7-10 days.

Question No.2.
Answer: Again, it depends on your budget. You can plan the trip to China staying in all 5-star hotels, going out with luxury taxi, dining in best restaurants, various nightlife...or you can plan the trip in a tight budget staying in any clean and safe 3-star hotels, going out with free shuttle buses, dining in normal hygiene restaurants, no nightlife, just some sights view...etc.

Question No.3.
Answer: If you have never been to China, been to HK show or Canton fair, I would suggest you go there at least once. Seeing is believing. You will understand why China is developing so fast lately.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
