Example:
Splitbuy is a place where if you have 1000pcs of T-shirts for example you can reach 3 types of costumers all at the same time by simply spreading this amount throughout the whole site which is what we call a split spread.
Imagine listing 900 of those 1000 items in the
Large splits category with a 100pcs minimum order at $10 per item for example.
Then you take 90pcs and list them in to the small & single splits category only this time you set the minimum at 10pcs which will make it a 9 way split & charge $12 a pcs because you are offering a smaller minimum.Now you ask what do i do with the remaining 10pcs ?Well, you probably already realized it yourself but all you do is take those 10 pcs & list them in to the small & single item splits category with a 1pcs min which will get you a 10 way split plus you can charge much more for 1 pcs-lets say $15 if you truly want to make the product FLY!
