Default Has anyone here actually sold anything through this site other than...

...mobile phone accessories, ipods, consoles/accessories?

So far I've had no interest at all to any of the items I've advertised on here, and I can't attribute any sales from my wholesale site to here either.

Is everyone here just interested in these particular areas, or has anyone sold anything else on here...?

Sure they have. As your posting around have a look at people iTrader and that will show you that people have actually dealt within this forum. Regarding your items, it may just be that no ones simply interested or you'll just have to be patient. Sooner or later a person interested in your items, will see your post.

It's hard work selling on here. You have to sell something that no one is selling on ebay with a 10,000% markup. I'm not renewing my sellers membership

I think it is tough to sell on boards like these as for the most part they are designed for newbies. And usually boards full of newbies have one or both of the below:

1. No concept of what things actually cost.
2. No money / capital.

These boards are I think more for educational purposes as well as every now and then you may find a client of two or a supplier or two. From my exerience these internet boards for the most part aren't successful platforms for selling on a consistent basis.

For example, we sell mobile phones and our usual business is local retailers / businesses. Its for the most part face to face (with some clients out of state and overseas). We have gone to the internet to expand our reach, however we haven't been successful for the most part on trading boards (ie. alibaba, tradekey, cellpex, importers.com, etc).

All of the most popular boards for mobile phones / electronics for the most part are loaded with scammers and newbies. Basically people looking for Western Union payments and newbies trying to become the next Bill Gates through ebay.

I agree with Greedyboy though, its an uphill battle selling on boards like these not due to the lack of exposure, but rather the sort of members they attract. Seasoned traders in their respective fields already know where to get their stuff and also where to sell their stuff.

That being said every now and then something good comes of boards like these, but in my experience "Legitimate" traders will find it fairly hard to do business. Well I take that back, I think each industry is different, and I guess it depends what you are looking for. However for the more "popular" items, I think selling on boards like this is tough. (no offense to the mods)

Weve sold quite a few bundles of games and some dvd's

But still everyone wants the new releases, even though the risks are so high, margins so slim, depreciation so great and not to mention how fast they eat up peoples capital

And why does everyone want the wii consoles....we cant see how there is any money to be made in these at the moment!?!

plus im yet to 'sell' a holiday on here! not that thats anything to do with wholesale

any of you got fed up with the 'but on ebay there wont be that much of a mark up, maybe £2-3 at most (which on games is a LOT)' and then the typical 'I want to make a big order what price can you do' and then they actually mean big order including about 5 or 10 units!

Hahaha I think you and I are on the same page mate. Comments I love to hear are as follows:

1. But thats won't leave me any profit on ebay?!?!
2. I'd like to place a bulk order, whats the pricing for 5, 10, and 15 units?
3. How can I buy at that price when buy.com/ebay.com (insert big website) is only selling at this price. (when buyer wants to undercut the whole market with 5 pc order).

Then you have people trying to buy items like Nintendo Wiis and Iphones for half market price. YAWN. Seriously, why don't you try selling something that is easier to find then a leprechaun or a unicorn with a margin that isn't about as tiny as it gets (if you ever find that supplier). Gotta love the newbs.

It may be because your prices are quite high. I have been selling the Dymo 400 Turbo and due to competion having to charge around £75 where you are selling them at £78 plus VAT which for most on here is not a recoverable cost.
