I was advised to list my products as BIN, didnt think much of it. I have no problem relisting for £100 BIN + Best Offer. I have a feeling my last customer will leave some feedback and it'll stick out!

Only list at auction if demand for the product is high. - plenty of bidders - if only a few items selling daily you need bin's or higher starting price.
Would go with the rest of the guys - bin with best offer set to accept above e.g. 90 and automtically reject below say 70 or whatever you deem inappropriate.

Even though I got this product at such a great price, so much so that I had to pay 10% commission to get a third party to purchase this on my behalf, I paid obviously for the shipping, and the custom charges. Yet it still came to a total of £45, my supplier has not got any more in stock, and since this was a clearance item, this will no longer be stocked.

The item you listed is definitely not an "auction" item. An item like that is definitely a BIN item.
The only items that are good for auctions are really "hot" items where there are a lot of buyers to drive the price up. I think you will do very well to list it as a BIN.
Also don't base your success on ebay. Too many people treat ebay like it is the ONLY venue to which to sell stuff. For example, many popular mobile phones sell on ebay for $500/pc, while you walk into a major dept store and see it selling for $700. Obviously despite the much higher selling price, many people prefer to buy from a major dept store, or other venues etc. BUYERS ARE EVERYWHERE NOT ONLY EBAY.
People don't realize that Ebay is probably the most competitive marketplace in the world. You don't have to sell on ebay, there are tons and tons of places you can sell that are just as profitable if not more so.
You need to just keep chugging along. But as I mentioned before, you will be much better off with a BIN on something like that, as there won't be enough buyers for your item. An item like that will sell because someone will do a search for it, and then see your BIN. People for the most part aren't going to be following it till the very end. It is not an iphone or nintendo wii, use the BIN.

I have listed items in the auction format alongside my BINs for the same item with a starting price the same as the BIN price, yet the final bid has sometimes been higher than the BIN price!

Lesson learnt! Next time I list this item I'm looking at £110 BIN + Best Offer, with Worldwide shipping. I'm just dissapointed that I can't source these at the same price anymore though. Oh well.
Zak.
