Default E-mailing a potential supplier?

Hey guys,

I want to contact a potenital supplier, however he is a retailer. I have worked with retailers in the past with no problems, but have contacted him 3 weeks ago with no luck. I want to contact him again, but need some help on making a prefessional email so that he will be more willing to deal with me. Can someone create an example of a professional email to a supplier?

Thanks,

Aaron

First off if you havent been able to contact him for 3 weeks I think thats not necessarily someone you want to work with? I mean you have to be able to communicate with your supplier on a fairly frequent basis.

Second, I have noticed that there have been a lot threads lately about "how do I approach a supplier etc", and the buyers ask about letterheads, professional emails etc.
However for the most part I believe many people are missing the point.

For the most part suppliers don't care if your email comes on a nice letterhead etc, the thing they care about is your credibility and your ability to purchase. They want to see Tax IDs, Resellers Permits, References etc. They don't care about letterheads etc.

Also it helps to be polite in your email, thats about it I think. Businesses don't turn away potential new clients because there is no logo on the email etc. The better strategy is to get your business registered with all the proper authorities etc. and go from there. Good luck.

Well said Jabong82. The only thing a suplier should want is to know that you can buy what they are selling and will not cause problems paying. If you are still unable to trade with them, question their sanity and ask yourself if you would like to do business with them.
