Hi,

I'm curious, I've got lots of foreign friends living in China, and I spend around 4-6 months a year there. I've got an office there, for my website...

What I find interesting, is that people are just interested in "Buying from China"? From my experience, if your using an agent, you'll want somebody who is an expert in your industry, and has lots of experience getting you what you need.

An example. One of my friends can buy good tee shirts for really cheap. He's been there for 5 years, and just recently found this supplier. You can buy from him for less than what other Factories will charge you, if you buy direct!

Anyway, experts are needed in sourcing, and good trade agents are helpful, especially if your not going to China yourself...

I've got more articles on my website, www.goodfactories.com and can recommend some friends in other industries, too... seth@goodfactories.com

***Since the writing of my post, I need to take down a statement about T Shirt costs... I had a bad memory, and underestimated the price... sorry about that, will be more careful in the future...

I have tried buying from China and got screwed every time. More than half the products were un saleable.
The Chinees violate all US copy rights and think we are
all stupid. China thinks of business as just a legal way to steal.
The US economy is in the tank. The Chinees want to keep us there. If you want a good economy buy American. If you don't support the USA no one else will!

Why does everybody blame other countries for the Trade Deficit? If the USA had some balls, we would have started taxing imports the same way China does...

They charge a 100% markup on most imported products! Thus, all the G7 companies, who want to sell in China need to Manufacture in China... We've done this with the Auto Industry (Toyota, Honda, Subaru, have mfg plants in the States now), but seems that we should be looking at our own country, not blaming other countries or the consumers for the loss of manufacturing in the States...

Anyway, I don't think heavy import taxes on all goods makes sense, but industries that are highly automated, should be considered, and jobs would move back to the USA quickly!

Not sure if this is the exact answer, but its an idea, and the main point is that if we want to solve the problem, BLAME WASHINGTON DC not other countries...

I'd say there is plenty of blame to go around the world. There will always be a boogey man out there, different ones for different countries. But you could truly say - Let The Country Who Is Without Sin Cast The First Stone.

Like it or not, we're in it together. The representation here goes a long way to proving that.

I deal with China on a daily basis and never been scammed. I am sure there are quite a few here in the same boat.
