Have you been Scammed In the Past ?
Okay...I know that most people don't like to admit that they have been Scammed but I was wondering just how many people have been Scammed ( on this forum ),How much in money terms & did they ever see a single penny in return ?
I understand if I don't get any replies.
Thanks

Scammed by fraudulent cc use (charge reversals for unauthorized use)
Scammed by intl buyers saying they didn't receive merchandise
Scammed by vendors who have no merchandise
Scammed by vendors who disappear after you pay them
Sadly comes with the territory ...

Looking back, a few with the vendors could have been prevented with better research
(using whois, the forums, etc.) but others not (like Vic from SJL Enterprises who we
had had dozens of successful transacions with suddently disappearing with our money).

Thank God I haven't. I almost did, but I ended up getting refunded.
Most people I know that have been scammed found their "suppliers" on alibaba.com. IMO that website is terrible. Just browsing through their listings I can point out the fraudulent leads and companies by simply glancing at them, but a naive user will think he's hit the jackpot with $150 Xboxes. Sometimes even the most precautious people end up getting jerked, and sadly, that company (alibaba) does little to nothing about it and it's just not worth using.
I'll have a website up soon similar to alibaba.com, but it will be much more community oriented and will implement features alibaba.com hasn't come up with to minimize fraudulent activity. I hope to have a strong reliable user foundation and be able to easily weed out the thieves, so people can do their business without the fear of losing their hard earned money.
