Hi,

Been browsing through this website for a while now and everyone seems to have the same problems with sites like ALABABA, and IOFFER.

I have been toying with the Idea of setting up a Mall system locally to allow all the shops in my area to have an online presence on 1 website. Every shop has its own store on the website.

I was thinking that this would also be helpfull for wholesale as well. The only problem being that I need a way to insure that the sellers I allow to onto the website are legit, so I was thinking along the lines of.
  1. Website has a Seller Signup Page
  2. Signup must be authorised by the admin before seller can sell, this way I can do some checks on them to confirm they are real.
  3. once signup is confirmed a monthly fee would be charged for having the store, this helps with advertising etc.
What I am really asking is What checks would I need to do, and do you think it would be fair to charge for these to be done (companies house etc)- I think a charge for the checks would be best as it would get rid of a lot of con artists as they dont like paying.

Also what do you think would be a fair monthly charge for the service.

Also would any of the sellers here be interested in such a service, if so PM me and if I go ahead with it I will email you and let you know.

thorough authentication...although I am not sure how but I think it will be easier if you are doing for a specific region ..for example the US. You can check their credit history (you need their permission for that to happen) so you can request for that when new sellers register ...some thing like that..but thats the basic idea.

But when you do that, you must also be prepared for lawsuits.

Alibaba charge to become a verified/trusted seller, $500 or there abouts to make thousands.

Charging is not the answer, proper checks are.

I am based in the UK so would be really aiming at sellers here, that way I could check with Companies House etc, and if they pay fee by credit card I can check the address etc.

Not really sure what other checks would be needed - I would prefer to use a really robust checking system to confirm sellers - that way buyer have more trust.

any recommendations on checks that would be best?
