maybe this forum isn't the right one for you, and maybe "Starting An Employment Agency" isn't the right thing for you either.
You have to know how a business works to even consider starting one up!

A: For that many iPods, about the best price you are going to find is about $215 or 125 pounds or so. These are rough estimations understand. But just to give you an idea, if someone offers you say $165 for an iPod, then they are clearly scammers. You have to by at least ten thousand iPods to get that sort of price…

Eh? That doesnt make any sense. Apple are selling their 4GB Nanos for £129 each so i dont see how $215 or £125 pounds is gonna be the best price somehow.

Sorry, this was written before the price drop and the introduction of the newer iPod Nanos.... And besides, this is just an example. Don't read it so literal, just realize that somewhere around that price is more realistic than thinking that you can buy 10 ipods nanos "wholesale" for say 80 pounds a piece... and yes, there are some people who believe that and have thus lost money...

Top of the evening to everyone,

I started a business on ebay and it's going ok. But I want more. I bought a liquidation lot and paid about $150.00 for 75 items of apparel. Once received looking at the price tag most of the items were marked down to 1 cent. Now does anyone know or have advice on what position the person who only paid 1 cent is in. How is that and is that possible for me to do. Department store items that can range from $49.99-175.99 for only 1 cent. Any clarification or suggestions about this process.

Thanks!

Great thread, BaiLong11, many thanks. I'd emulate JMGames, but my back aches just now. ;-)

future biz, you paid for 75 items. I strongly suspect the person or company you bought them off got at least one container packed full - factory overrun? bankruptcy clearout? landed at port and buyer no show? Who knows?

The main questions for you to ask yourself are are:

1. Can you make a good profit on the 75 items you bought? If yes, you got a good deal. and
2. Would you know how to turn such a large quantity around quickly so your money is not tied up for too long a time period whilst storage is costing you money? - assuming you are tempted into that form of buying. If you can't do that, it is very easy to lose money on those deals.
