With the 'Top Rated Seller' Status on some sellers would you choose them over someone else just because theyve got a gold ribbon ?

I mean no offence to anyone who is top rated but i think ebay give them 'too many extras' i mean there are loads of people who offer just as good things with 100% feedback but are not top rated!

I have to say I agree price isn't everything at times. I don't know how many times I have read the description and saw something like 'no returns accepted, 'seller's standard rate'' or 'it is not my responsibility for lost items' oh and another favourite 'i always keep proof of postage should you need to make a claim'. When they go on about how they charge for their time and petrol in the description puts me off too.

Ha ha, I back straight out that page whenever I see those and if the alternative is slightly dearer then so be it. I don't want to give my money to someone who could have over 1000 feedback yet has failed to grasp some of the very basics of ebay.

My sales have gone up arround 50% since getting top rated seller status. This may partly be down to the Xmas period but I am on the first page for alot of items I sell. I don't think it automatically makes people buy but it gives them alot more confidence.

I think you need to find a middle ground in between as both of these are taken into account when I buy online. Buying cheap isn't very good when you have to chase things up by yourself, without the help of the seller.

Revel you can get that with any company, big small, cheap or expensive. I couldn't care less about templates, shop design, feedback or descriptions, the cheaper the better and if some of the latter are poor it will be cheap. Any problems simple claim back via Paypal or CC if things get to that stage. The only thing I look out for is returns policy, generally nothing to worry about with that either tho.

Price is more important to me than service.
