Those that regularly visit the forum will have noticed the jump in spamming of the forum by people trying to either promote scam sites or pass their own site off as something they have found that will interest the rest of the forum.
Then when the forum rejects the site as such they get funny and start kicking a fuss up and even comically threaten the posters with legal action, which to all that do I say :
" threaten away as I stand by all my opinions that I post and they are usually based on fact or research conducted by myself and are posted in response to a question, if you feel they are wrong and the necessity of legal action then please contact me and I will pass my solicitors details onto you. My details are present on all my posts and all my sites and I do not hide from anyone "
You may feel that I am getting on my high horse but to be honest the sudden jump in crap being posted is starting to detract from the forum purpose as the post become personal and catty, hence the recent bannings. Now I am not a partner in this site, I do not own it or am a moderator (although I would probably be extreme as a moderator, hehe) but I enjoy this forum hence the volume of posts that I have made recently and do not want to see it go down the pan like some other 'good' forums that have disappeared due to ***** being posted.
Now then a few points that any poster can expect on the forum when they post something :
The site they promote will be researched using whatever the poster uses and an opinion will be posted, which is the basis of a forum, this then gives the original poster a chance to answer the questions raised and to reply with a response that is backed up with evidence to counter the claims made etc etc.
There will inevitably be responses made by people that have done no research and are just posting to cause problems, my advice would be to just ignore these as this is the responsibility of the moderators to sort out and once someone who is intent on causing trouble realises that they can get a response then they will do it all the more. Its the 'flys round sh#t syndrome'. Let the moderators deal with them and if you feel strongly then contact the moderators as this is their function and once again a fundamental basis of any forum.
Most people make up their own minds on a site/product/whatever, I know I do, and just because one negative post is posted doesn't mean that all will be..unless the site is as bad as the poster said it was.
On the bounce side of this if the site is 100% then you can expect a favourable response and possibly some orders, so do not shy away from posting.
Apologies to James if I have overstepped the mark with this post as he owns the site/forum and it is his word that is final but I for one enjoy the forum and it helps people to learn (as my posts do hopefully). The site is aimed at helping people looking to get into business but please remember that there is no quick way to make money, unless you develop your own unique product that everyone wants. There are a major number of scam sites out there and it is human nature to be sceptical (whether you are UK, Europe or US, as someone tried to make out that the UK was the worst in a recent post!) and it is peoples hard earned money that prospective new businessmen/women are looking to use so this cautiousness is well placed/founded.
When looking for a product, do not just focus on the 'at hand' products, ie. ipods et al as there are so many sources already in place and they are notoriously hard to obtain legitimatly(sp?) and make money from (even large retailers struggle to make on them). You may be getting sick of hearing me say '
think outside of the box' but this is the one piece of advice that I was given years ago that still holds strong to this day, sure I am involved in the Mobile Phone industry but this is not my only source of income (in fact the shops that we own may be sold shortly to concentrate on other things) Infact I have 50 sites live at the moment that are helping to develop my income streams, the majority of which I do not advertise on forums (so dont ask

)
You have to make sure that your income does not rely on one single income stream, say for example ebay went bust (not likely, but the competition is coming) and you sold purely on ebay you would see a massive drop in income that could cripple you if you had nothing to fall back on.
If you are intent on selling on ebay (I do) then please look to also develop an online presence of your own so that this develops another possible income stream, it is so easy for someone to come onto ebay and undercut you just to move you out of the sector (a pretty commomn business practice). Developing a website is not that difficult, it gets slightly more complicated when you go into shopping carts etc but there are a multitude of services that can be used to help in this area.
Once the site is up is when the challenge starts, but thats another topic altogether..
Sorry for ranting on and moving away from the original topic but once I get going there is no stopping me (for which I make no apologies

)
Put simply, if you post expect a reply and also expect that it may not be one that you expect or like but they are aimed at helping (or dismissing if a scam).
