Importing herbal medicines to Italy from the UK

Hi to all,

I am new member here, so forgive me any errors I may make.

I am the Sales Manager for a small, but growing, Italian based herbal products company.

I would like to know the possibilities of importing herbal products (NOT medicines - rather, products like Ginseng, Aloe Vera, dietary supplements etc) from the UK to Italy. Has anybody any information relating to how this matter may be undertaken? In particular, any advice relating to the law. I would appreciate all helpful comments.

As far as I can see, herbal medicine is ok as it is all natural products.

It is not drugs.

I have been told that Italy’s customs are the strictest in the world due to the import of fake clothing. I am sure your local customs office can provide you with what you need to know.
