Question Are you VAT-registered?

Yesterday I was informed by my tax consultant, how the sales to UK are done.
For intra-community deliverys I must require, that the addressee is VAT-registered so that I can make a net invoice.

Otherwise I have to display 17,5% VAT which is taxable in UK.

So who is VAT-registered in this forum? Who has any additional information for me or any correction for what I said... ?

What you have heard is correct. Sales within the EU are invoiced at net providing you are selling to a person who is genuinely VAT registered (it is you responsibility to ensure they are using a genuine registered VAT number).

I am VAT registered but I believe many member here are not. SO you will have to invoice them gross.

regretfully.... but they can also keep the VAT, if they sell to customer, don't they?
Because otherways the prices would not be profitable to those...

If you are not VAT registered the VAT element becomes part of the cost.

VAT is charged at the point of sale, so it is at your country's rate.

I presume you are VAT registered as your first post didn't say.

Whatever the VAT rate is in you country you charge.

yes I am! So because of that I could make net invoices, but only to other VAT-registered users. My question now was, if they (not VAT-registered) could anyhow get something back of those 19%?
