Default Need Informations about paperworks and e-business

hi,

i'm new on this forum and want to say that it is a very helpfull place for new people on this business, so thanks everybody!
I'm french, and i moved to Montréal few months ago. I want to make a company (sorry for my english ) on Internet and doing "events sale" of branded apparel.
anyway, it seems very complicated...lol
i have several questions about paperworks:
someone in europe tells me that you can sell branded products without problem if you bought them from legal sources.
so, I would like to know:
if i buy Versace shirts in a legal way but the supplier doesn't provide paperworks, i have the right to resell them ?
or i need an authorization of the brand?
do i have to only buy from authorized distributors or can i buy at a destockor who has a lot of brands and to resell without problem?

thanks for your help....

ps: if anyone know good suppliers for branded clothes and accessories in Canada or USA, i would really enjoy his help...

You do not need a permission from the brand to sell their stuff. (usually)

You may want to have a reseller certificate or something for your business and stuff.

Take me for example, I didint go to all the phone manufacturers and ask them if I could sell their phone. I just get them through a distributor and sell them.

thanks a lot for your answer!

So, if i understand what you said, i should only bought to the authorized distributors of the brand? In this case, I would not have to request from the brand a permission…
But, if i buy from a company making overstocks of lot of brands, do you think that i have the right to retail these articles without "paperworks"? Like i would buy them legaly, the reseller certificate will be included?
Sorry, but like i said i'm new in this business and before starting, i want to be sure that all i will do will be legal...

even if you buy overstock or from any1.....you can resell it...

take for example...people who sell stuff at ebay...
Bottom line is....you dont need permission from brand to sell their stuff.

What I mean by the reseller certificate is....you should get some business certificate ( a reseller certificate is a type of business certificate ) so the gov knows you are operating a business.

But a lot fo people on places like ebay have no such kind of certificates...they just buy and sell stuff on their own with no probs

Ok, thanks a lot for your help!

i have just bought some Versace shirts from luxurymagazzino who seems to be very serious (i have red a lot of threads in the forum who said they are ok).
they don't provide paperworks, i only have an invoice of them (where it's write the name of the product).
when i will be a legal company with business certificate from the gov, have i the right to retail these shirts? (i'm in Canada)

Thanks!

Laure.
