Inbound into Customs (U.S)
According to my USPS tracking status, I have had the following message since October 19th for two shipments:
"Your item is being processed by United States Customs. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later."
Since this is the status since Oct 19th, are my shipments "held" in customs?
Is there anything I can do? Would calling help and give them the tracking number?
Little background: importing clothing from China to sell on ebay. Never had one problem with customs since I started importing in July. I have had 8 orders shipped and delivered without any customs issues until this happened, including one order I made after Oct 19 (and before I knew I had a customs problem).
Any insight would be appreciated!

Your packages has been opened by customs as a random inspection. The clothes they have founds, they believe are counterfeit. They have probably contacted the brand owner for verification that you their permission to import their brand and possibly arranged for a sample to inspected by the brand owner to confirm their findings.
You will eventually get a letter from US Customs explaining that they have seized the clothing and it will be destroyed.
You also may get a letter from the brand owner threatening legal action and all kinds of other demands.
If the items are branded, DO NOT import from China as they are fake.

Thanks for the info, greedyboy. Do you know this from others who have experienced the situation I'm encountering or is this from your own experience?

I have never or never will deal in counterfeit goods or branaded goods from China. However I do know that is how the customs operate with branded clothing. It is not hard for customs to work out a box from China containing 25 branded shirts is slightly suspect!
What brand were the clothes? At a guess I'd say RL?
