Hi,
My first post

I'm glad to have found a great place.
I am seeking advice on importing to the U.S.A from any country.
Basically I want my supplier in Hong Kong to ship directly via SEA, poss L.C.L to my customer in the U.S.A. My forwarder advises me a "U.S.A supplier code" is required....Is this true? I have not heard about it, google also failed me hmmm
If this is true, what stops my U.S.A customer from finding out who my supplier is in Hong Kong using the "U.S.A supplier code"?
My forwarder informed me the introduction of the U.S.A supplier code which is issued by the U.S.A government to suppliers worldwide was a new procedure in an attempt to improve security. Is this true?
Any help and advice would be most appreciated...
Previously whilst working for U.K. firm when we used Fed EX to send goods very small consignments from U.K. to U.S.A I never had to do such a thing...So just wandered if my forwarder had got this wrong?
Thanks in advance...
Cheers...
