I'm flying out of the EU with around £15k in cash for property transaction abroad. I understand that a 'Cash Declaration Form' needs to be submitted at customs at the airport on leaving the UK as it exceeds 10k Euros or equivalent.
Does this process take much time? Worried about flight time etc...or is it straightforward?
Thanks
It may have changed but it used to be £9k (15K Euros) as that's the maximum car auctions would take in cash! Contact HMRC and they will tell you what you need to do.

also be aware that there may be sniffer dogs at the airport... trained to sniff large amounts of cash... I jest you not... I got stopped at Manchester twice... once coming in from Amsterdam and the second time Dubai.... Its a little disturbing when everyone can now see you have a large amount of cash on your person.
