Hi,

Needing some complex help and advice to the process of the following:

I will explain this as clear as possible...

I own a UK based company.
I want to purchase goods from an Asian manufacturer.
I want to sell and ship the goods (container) DIRECT (from Asia) to another EU country other than UK, with our company details on ALL paperwork.
When shipment has been cleared by customs, I want to be able to raise an invoice for the shipment and forward instantly to my customer in Poland.

Shipping route example: Asia - Hamberg(eu) - Poland (eu)

Here are my questions and dilemmas

Is there a way of shipping the goods to another EU country with all my details on the paperwork - but with our customer's address ?

Would the import tax and VAT be payable in the final destination's country (Poland).
Or Would it be payable as soon as it hits the EU (Hamburg)
Or would it be payable in the country where the company is registered (UK) ?

Acting as an agent is an option but....
I want to keep a longer arm between my supplier and my customer !

Any help with this issue, would be greatly received, not only for me but other forum members also perhaps.

Many thanks

"Tiggs"

As with many things related to importation, most options can be managed. The question I would ask is why? What are you trying to acheive?

Specifically:
Is there a way of shipping the goods to another EU country with all my details on the paperwork - but with our customer's address ?
Yes. But a lot can depend on the terms of sale/incoterms used.

Would the import tax and VAT be payable in the final destination's country (Poland).
Import duty/VAT is calculated where the goods are declared. The goods could land in Hamburg and then be transited to Poland for clearance, but this adds another level of complication/cost.

An option is for you to sell the goods on a direct basis i.e. from the factory, but all of the transaction going through you.
Or, you could sell CIF, where you pass the goods over at the EU docks, DDP, where clear the goods and deliver direct to the customer.

In all cases, use a good logistics company, who can manage the process for you!
