Default Import from the UK to The Netherlands

Dear folks,

I am wondering what procedure I have to follow,

My situation is as follow,
I want to import fragrances from the UK to The Netherlands.
I found a legit supplier to do so.
Since they do not transport the goods outside the UK.
You got 2 choices, 1 to load the goods from their firm, 2 to load the goods from an UK haven down south.

When I am able to contact a Dutch Transport Service to load the goods from their firm.
What do I have to pay for it, to get it to The Netherlands.

I think only these 2 are relevent in my case, but I want to ask, am I right, since most of you live in the UK you probably know more then I do.

1-VAT (you can declare that back from the taxservice) or not?
2-Transportation costs

I hope my English is way better then your Dutch
Cheers Ronnies

the cost is so variable, you couldnt supply an accurate guess - £50-£500. It depends on the size, volume, locations etc.

If it is a small consignment - 10-20kgs, get it sent by Royal Mail. If a pallet, speak to to some local companies and ask for a backload, which should reduce costs..

As for VAT, you will be charged the UK rate and, if you are Dutch tax registered, you can claim it back at may even be able to be charged ex tax (not sure on tax rules on inter Europe shipments). The UK rate is 17.5%
