Checking a Company registration.??
Hi all,
One of the suggestions I see cropping up to check out a company from China is request their company registration documentation. Which in itself seems reasonable, but of course they are written in I assume Mandarin Chinese, which is understandable under the circumstances So the question is, is there an online method to translate these, and if i did what am I actually looking for. Or is it a case of forwarding it onto a particular person / site who is in a position to assess the documentation I receive. What do I look for also when a supplier provides their bank details, which again seems to be a way of confirming credibility, I have some now from 2 companies, but I have no idea where to go from here LOL
Really professional huh, " Let me have a look at these certificates, Ohhh, yes, that is nice, all seems to be in order, spelling is nice, and the bank sounds real, yes that will do,""!!
"Know wot I mean me old China!" just like Del Boy (pun intended )

Hi there,
Or you could go to your local chinese and get them to look at it. I have done that with some docs and they told me what it said. After ordering my meal deal for 2.

Well, maybe LOL Our local Chinese restaurant are Hong Kong Chinese, usually HK Chinese run the Chinese Restaurants in the UK. I think that is the case anyway. I,m sure there are exceptions though. Of course Hong Kong Chinese is different from Mandarin Chinese, quite a different language in fact. Still, thanks for the advice.

I don't now. The only other think I might recommend is to pay for a trasnlator to do it for you.
I deal with the chinese through work and never had any problems.
There is a new guy on this forum called " theimporter" I would speak to him he might be able to help you.

Ok thanks, in fact I have been in contact via another thread with theimporter. I agree he is resourceful.
He also has a good website, which offers services and information on verified companies, well worth a look. I think I will contact him in the near future to check the registration of the company in question.

Further to my checks a trustpass alibaba supplier has been sending me certificates, and I wondered what you all thought about this line, copied from e mail from co:
in the attachment I send you some registration document of our company ,(this is our intrtnational trade company's the CE certificate is made by our factory . you may see the address id different and the
model No is different .most company all like this , I just want to you know this, don't make some mistake again )
and our CE certificate is no problem , you know every month we export bikes to europe countries . pls don't worried t
Now should I be worried, or is this indeed normal practice, yes I have the ce certificate from them and yes, the company name is different and the model of the product is different, which leaves things a bit wide open if you ask me. I mean the company could have one CE certificate and wheel it out for every CE query, and say, "Hey, Don't worry it's OK" until one tries to bring in a large quantity and they are picked up and designated unsaleable
I tried to add an attachment but apparently my quote is exceeded by having one attachment already on another open post.
(Is there any way I can expand my quota BTW. I mean surely I can have more than one attachment on posts at one time?)
I also got an example certificate of their banking details, the lady at the company said it is Ok as well, Hmmm, IS it, Please look at this below, it is a copy of the attachment they sent me. I have a good relationship with this company so far, and as I said they have trustpass status on Alibaba and 1st year Gold member status, so I think they are OK, just being careful. (I would have put it as an attachment, but again I can't?? Ho Hum... )
Thanks everyone,
JonO

CE certificates are bought and sold on China's black market. When the information does not match, 99.9% of the time the company will turn into a Scam!
Try sourcing from www.globalsources.com they have the best business verification for Asia companies.
My advice is to find another company!
