Question Import agent, anyone in Glasgow who will answer me?

I have been trying to set up an agent in the city of Glasgow, "The fair green place" as we all know it, to little avail. Either my reputation goes before me, and on that note, I did not know the baby rabbits were in there.............. But seriously, I have e mailed a couple or more potential agents in Glasgow, contacted some freight forwarders etc. and asked for a service to import some samples due in from China within the next month or so. OK the samples are not many in the first instance, maybe 3 items of only about 25kg each. Nevertheless I expect that if all goes well, then it will expand into more quantity, (Little Prayer here) So I have requested that an agent be able to deal with the documentation and either hold the goods, or road truck on to destination, and what is more I will pay for the service, wow! Maybe they were overawed by my request, and needed time to get over it, or I wonder if it is just that I am but a small crumb cast on the vast ocean of imports, left to drift at the mercy of the turbulent currents and doomed to sink into the depths of oblivion. (Poetic huh?) i.e. They couldn't be ars*d as it wasn't a container.

So, anyone suggest a decent import agent that can deal with a little shipment into Glasgow who won't ignore me?

thanks in anticipation and with excitement,
JonO

I have never known an agent to turn down a client just because of the size of the order.... they charge no matter how small or large it is... it is quicker and easier to use an agent but not essential. You could do a search for agents around port of entry or even try yellow pages.... there are usually quite a few.

These guys are local AND friendly. They often bring containers in and offer space in them too for small loads like yours.

I have even got them to answer the phone on a Saturday and discuss details for an hour or so when i think he was just in to do computer backups - LOL

It would be easier to send them from china by 'express' such as DHL or UPS direct to your door.

the shipment is 75kg's, so possible unecomomical for normal courier - 25kg is on the limits.
