Its not as simple as just "getting one". Is the only reason you want to register for VAT because suppliers you talk to have one?

Are you up and trading yet?

Don't rush into it unless you fully understand it

Greedyboy is absolutely right. If you register for VAT then make sure you know what you are doing because they leave no room for error. If you get your accounting wrong they are highly punitive and like terriers when it comes to reclaiming unowed money and penalties.

Wow good website! although you are to hard on the maybe fake sellers here, you still do give good advise. I wish i was based in the UK.

Here in Germany its hard to make a little extra money without running into a regulation or two.

lol you think its not hard here?

our inland revenue system are very very harsh on undeclared money and the amount of regulation is very high.

Studio1one its not the tax thing. its when you write, you have 4 week to return and item if you are not satisfied. You are fined for not correctly stating that you have 30 day instead of 4 weeks.

I am a foreigner here in Germany so its any little hard to understand the rules and fine print here.

You do need a VAt No. here to buy from most wholesalers. I sell to a mostly expatriate customer base here and I purchase items from the UK and the first thing they ask for is my Vat No.
