Default ShengZheng Compliance...

Evening folks,

Considering my first import of items from ShengZheng and just checking out some of the companies credentials.

Without going into too much detail, it's a product in the electronic 'genre' lol

The company i'm looking at states it has certificates of compliance from:

SMQ Shenzhen Academy of Metrology and Quality Inspection (SMQ) (Shenzhen Calibration Station of AQSIQ)

&

an 'EC Declaration of Conformity'

Can anyone confirm if these hold any weight and are the items likely to be suitable for re-sale online in the UK?

Cheers,
Ross

You have to order a sample to test first. Also, to sell electronics in EU, you must have the CE approval, RoHs certificate, etc.

Don't easily trust any certificates handed out from the factory. Go check it through authorized online certificates validity.

there are couple things to do.

Ideally, only accept certification from international companies like SGS or ITS. You should be able to check the validity of certs with these companies. Also insist of copies of test reports.

For ultimate security, get the item tested yourself. If you use a local branch of the company who did the original test, you can reference back.

I agree "For ultimate security, get the item tested yourself. " In China, you can buy any certification you want, include certification from international companies like SGS or ITS. Even myself got a faked SGS cerification from a big company.
BTW, it should be Shenzhen, not Shengzheng.
