Sent my VAT registration pack off last week, how long does it usually take before they issue me with a VAT registration number & does it just come as a certificate or something?

Really keen on getting this asap as i can see plenty of potential on supplying retail shops, but they won't even touch me with it which is understandable.

It used to take 2 weeks now it's nearer 10 weeks!

You get issued your VAT number and a certificate.

i recently got one in 3 weeks but the advisor said it might take up to 6 to 10 weeks

yea, took us about 5 weeks i think. but you can back date the vat if you want to.
