Hi,

Just wondering what charges I may incur for importing cosmetics into the UK from USA? Am I right in thinking that on cosmetics the standard duty rate is free but I will be charged VAT at 15%? Also am I correct that not all parcels are charged?

Ask your local Customs Broker in the UK for duty and VAT charges based on the HTS Code and the value of the goods.

Yes you have to pay 15% VAT if the worth of the order is to high.

In Austria the limit is 40€, that means an order below 40€ is free for import to my country and I don't have to pay custom fees.

Please also keep in mind that you also have to pay custom fees for the shipping costs!
