Hi all,
Just a quick one I will probably embarass myself here but here goes...
What is the benifits of being VAT registered?
Is it just I get the product minus VAT sell them and at the end of the year give the VAT man his due?
Why have all the pain and not just buy with VAT added?
Any help will really be apprieciated.

For ease if you are selling to businesses it would be a benefit.

If not and especially for a newbie their is no immediate benefit.

My golden rule for traders selling to the public rather than B2B is DON'T register for VAT unless you have to i.e you legally have to

Unless you have to register, i would not reccomend this as a new trader. Too much paperwork and could ultimatly price you out of the market if you are selling to un-registered buyers!
