Import Problems?
Hi,
I ordered 5 spypens from china, instead of the pens, I got a letter through the door from DHL. Well its not a letter, its a copy of the shipping details from the supplier, along with something that DHL have produced - "supplementary declaration".
Do they have my pens somewhere? Theres no note - nothing at all to say what I have to do next.
Any help appreciated.

Re: Import Problems?
Once they deliver the goods, they will send an invoice in respect of any import duty and VAT. I wouldnt worry as DHL make you sign for deliverys anyway so they havnt sent it to the wrong place!
Give it a couple of days, then ring them, or use your tracking number to locate the parcel

Re: Import Problems?
Hi,
Thanks for that - I was away last week so they may have been to the house to deliver the pens - not sure, but theres no note here to say theyve been. (I think the docs above came through the post).
Ive got a tracking number from my supplier, but its related to singapore post - (singpost do t com)
nothing to do with DHL or is it? I dont understand to be honest how a parcel gets here through all the logistics and companies.

Re: Import Problems?
Hello,
Most people don't know this but the online chat is very helpful but extremely hard to locate.
http://www.dhl-usa.com/custserv/cont...?nav=ContactUs
On the right hand side there is a link that says 'Speak to Tracking Agent' however only avaliable during weekdays I believe. Give it a try tomorrow, or simply call them.
Warm Regards

Re: Import Problems?
Jeez Ive just realised this documentation I have referes to an older order which I already have.
I wish they would have dropped a note of instructions in it - I have absolutely no clue what to do with it and theres no phone number or anything - but it looks like they want cash.
"Total Revenue Payable - 2.74"
WTF?

Re: Import Problems?
Hey, DHL will have already paid this amount over and they should have sent you a proper invoice with details of how to pay them within 30 days.
Id just call DHL and give them the information you have to clear it up

Re: Import Problems?
Thanks for the info - I will go through the post and see if theres something ive missed - then give them a ring to see how this works. I dont want to be fined down the line for this - or worse, I always like to have my taxes etc paid up.

Re: Import Problems?
You wont get fined, DHL will just chase you for payment as any other supplier would!
