Never imported in bulk before but I have just had a customer ask how much I could do 500 of these imported to him in the Netherlands.

http://www.volumerate.com/details.vr/sku.7522

$615 for the items but the shipping costs make it more than double. Ugh.

Surely it does not cost that much to ship in a couple of boxes, I know there is 500 altogether but they will weigh peanuts and will fit into a couple of boxes surely, maybe even one box?

Or am I missing the point of shipping whole boxes overseas?

Ok he has now informed me he wants 500 individual lights and not 500 packs. I have now checked out the Netherlands for 63 packs and the postage is via DHL only and costs a whopping $137. The items only cost me $78.

Wow.

It is not cheap to ship from China unless you ship by sea, but it wouldn't be feasible for such a small order. Plus it's a really small order anyway which doesn't help!

Depends on the weight and h/l/w ... for importing 85kg i got charged around 422$ which was just for 100 items, but it was well worth it

First, if using a courier, they are the most expensive way of sending products.

Most courier do not initially use physical weight, but volumetric, which gives a very different result.

If over 20-30kgs, always use air freight, via a goog logistics company/freight forwarder. You would be very surprised by the difference in costs.

I never pay more than 8 pounds/carton from the UK to the Netherlands.
And these are big cartons. (1mtr x ,5mtr x ,5tmr)

So it can be cheaper
