Default Will I get taxed the full 15%?

I have contacts of an iPhone wholesaler in the US and I would like to ship some to people over here in the UK.

So if I were to send 10 iPhones here for lets say £ X, would the person receiving it have to pay £ X plus £ 0.15 X?

Yes, they will be charged VAT of 15% when delivered. After January, it is going back up to 17.5%
there will be a service charge of £10 or £11 added by the delivery company also

Because UK VAT is really 17.5%, it was put down to 15% due to recession for 12 months, ending in Jan.

Dang! It's so hard to keep track of taxes and all. Best to just state the price of items I'm selling without tax. That would be a hella of a time saver as the buyer can check for their respective taxes and come back to me.

If you're exporting you should tell your customers to check any applicable charges with their local customs office. I wouldn't say it's anything you need to worry about, just so long as you make your customers aware that there may be charges applied to their order by their respective country.

Yes. Noted. I've made it a habit to use templates that include all the important details for the customer. I will set up an ecommerce store for bulk purchases with Yahoo ecommerce solution (hopefully and if my finance allows) and that would iron out all the shipping issues.

You seemed to have forgot import duty.

Cost of goods including shipping cost +handling charge x 17.5% + import duty.
