Do most of you guys have a business bank account? ive got a meeting with the bank to open a business account next week.
Is it possible to do wire transactions to suppliers through personal current accounts?

Are you guys VAT registered, I have a friend who has applied three time and is getting turned down to get VAT reged because of the nature of the business (import/export - games and ipods etc.)? Im surprised as I would have thought the VAT man/woman would have wanted the tax!

Cheers

I think there is a good mix on here of people who use business and private bank accounts, I use a business account. You can however do a T/T called a priority payment at HSBC through a personal account.

When did you friend start trading and how close is he to the VAT threshold? The amount of carousel fraud going on means that HMRC are becoming slightly more picky about who they will give a VAT number to.

As long as you keep the records of the transactions, and accounts, then you shouldnt have a problem using personal or business.
