Any particular problems I should be aware of. I'm buying some unbranded goods straight from the manufacturer, so nice and cheap.

They seem pretty friendly and it's quite a small order ($400) but still a little nervous as it's my first time with an unknown company..

I don't want to say who it is right now.

Obviously I can expect to pay VAT and import duty.

Hi all
I have sourced a manufacturer for my uniforms and equipment which will save me quite a bit but have never imported before and don't now if shipping and vat etc is going to make it unviable, I am sure it must be possible but need and appreciate any advice available, it doesn't help because we have to start small due to cost. Shipping seams to be very expensive also?
Also is anybody aware of a shared container type organisation out there or maybe somebody would consider starting one. Figure I'm asking a lot but cheers anyway for any advice.
Regards Rex
PS first time I've used a forum forgive me if I have approached this in the wrong way.

i guess just do the usual - background checks and if possible, get someone there to check them out.

I have contacts in Lahore and Karachi if you need anything checked out there.

u should be ok - there are a lot of manufacturers who make goods for big brands such as diesel, nike and levi's and duvet covers with disney pixar characters such as lightening mcqueen. plus granite is dirt cheap - its just shipping the damn stuff that is expensive. most of the worlds footballs, dental instruments are also manufactured there - there is money to be made just a case of the right contacts.

i have just had a good offer on some diesel jeans that i am getting in. usual stuff u have to factor in is customs and VAT but goods are relatively inexpensive
