I am about to import a ps3 from Hong Kong.
Providing customs stop the item, I understand that 17.5% VAT is a must, but would there be other importing fees, and how much would they cost.

The question is just for this particular product, but also for other similar products such as games, accessories etc.

You should check with your supplier in hong kong, from my experiance most suppliers will "unofficially" offer a couple other options to make you want to work with them futhter, You may be able to get them to lower the sale cost of the books while still having the same price for the product, product therefore lowering the vat taxes.

Also alot of companies will send it as a gift if requested.

Import Tax and VAT, make reservations for around 20%..

You can also sometimes get a handling fee charged by the courier. Importing into the UK for small quantities can be an absolute killer..

The product will be sent DHL more than likely - any ideas on their handling fees?

The product will not be sent to me, but direct to my customer and they are aware that they are liable to pay for any extra fees that may occur.

I just wanted to give them a guide on what to expect to pay.

handling fee is around £10. UPS charge £11 not sure on DHL
