Default Hi all

Hi guys and girls

Another newbie signing in. Just to tell you a bit about myself. I am currently working at a DHL distribution centre for Phillip Greens 'Arcadia' brands (Miss Selfridge, Burton etc.).

I've been thinking about starting up some form of business for a while now and have decided it is time to get serious. I've looked into dropshipping and normal retailing and despite the advantages of dropshipping (no stockholding etc.) I don't think it would give me the control I would want.

I'm still in two minds over what products I would like to begin selling. I have thought for a while on designerwear but have all but discounted it. Despite seeing thousands of garments a day my knowledge of the 'high street' fashion market is limited. Also selling higher end garments - Lacoste, Armani etc. seems to be fraught with legal pitfalls and the competition seems fierce (not that I am afraid of a challenge lol).

Anyhow my plan is to find a product I like and feel comfortable selling, begin selling on ebay with the eventual aim of possibly setting up some form of retail website. Starting on a fairly small budget but I guess we all have to start somewhere .

Have turned this into a bit of an essay but at least if / when I ask stupid questions in the coming weeks and months you know a bit about me .

to TWF.

My advice (not that i`m in a position of giving advices, i`m also at the start of the road) is to find a product that is somehow related to you... something that you know of, something you have passion for.

The point to remember about selling things is that, as well as creating atmosphere and excitement around your products, you've got to know what you're selling.

Cheers and i hope you will enjoy the forums
