Didn't know where else to put this.
This is aimed at the new members on TWF.
I have noticed ever since I have joined, new members rush into threads eager to start earning money without bearing certain things in mind, hopefully this guide will prevent many new members going away disappointed.
1. Before posting your interest, check the date on a thread, especially the date the thread was created. We all know how quickly items are sold, so a general rule I tend to follow, if a thread is a month or more old, then that product has a 99.99% chance of being sold out and the seller has forgotton to have the thread closed.
However in some cases, the seller could be receiving regular batches and would normally say in their threads that they will be getting regular batches in.
2. You can only buy items on TWF from a "Community Advertiser" or sell items on TWF as a "Community Advertiser", they have already paid for priviledge of advertising their products to you, so the quickest way to upset a lot of established members especially the Community Advertisers is to start offering your own items for sale without paying for the priviledge.
a. Another big no no is hi-jacking someone elses thread
3. Do not post your email address in such away that it can be picked up by an email harvester.
me@abc.com is so easy for a harvester to pick up and send you loads of spam.
me [AT] abc [DOT] com is a lot harder as the spammer who is the running the harvester will have to waste their time editing their lists.
4. If you don't get an answer to your post /PM/email straight away consider the following:
a. The Advertiser is running a business just like you, so they are not going to stop every 30 seconds to answer you as they are extremely busy.
b. They may be in a completely different time zone than you, so when you are posting your query they may actually be in bed.
One of the frustrating things is when somone posts a query then follows up 2 minutes later with "I'm still waiting for a reply"
5. You cannot buy branded goods from china, there are plenty of unbranded goods you can buy which will fulfill the same goal.
Never send any goods to Nigeria, you will not receive any money, sorry to tar everyone with the same brush from Nigeria, your country's reputation hasn't been helped by the 419 scammers.
This is just a quick guide I've knocked up, feel free to comment below.
