I am going to Dublin with my girlfriend around 12-18 feb.

I am staying for 2 nights.

Basically I just want to know where I can visit and what is the best place to stay?

I am currently looking at Hotel Isaacs on Store Street, I dont want to be too far away from the action in Temple Bar. I have looked at the Temple Bar Hotel but was just wondering if I want a place to stay that is close to Temple Bar (within 5 minute walk) and also a nice place to stay as I will wining and dining the wife you see.

Is it me or are you always going on holiday?

I've never been to Dublin (or even the Rep.Ireland/Northern Ireland) so can't comment on that but..

Its a bit out of Dublin near the Airport but the Airport lodge http://www.airportlodge.ie/index.htm
Is fantastic, I have stayed there two times
The owners name is Paddy (True) and I promise you he will look after you,
It is on good bus routes into Dublin maybe ten minutes
Free tip about Dublin DO NOT try and find a taxi after the pubs close take the bus

Is it easy to get into Dublin centre from the lodge as I thinking of booking. But I dont wanna spend the extra money on taxis etc... when I can just book a hotel closer to the centre?

If your planning on going out everynight to the Temple bar area as you do in Dublin, Your probably better somewhere nearer the centre, But I would compare prices as you may be surprised in the difference, When I stayed there my mate who lives in Dublin had a non drinking flatmate so it made it easy for us most of the time
