At the end of the day i think a dog turns out the way its been brought up ie if you look after them and love them they turn out just fine.

You are correct Carlr, i have to agree with you. It's like a child, if bought up in the wrong manner it may take certain turns in its life leading to severe problems.

Same with a dog.

very true guys! Sorry to hear about your bad relationship Emily- I've been through a crap time at late with somebody who are very selfish! Sounds like your better off without him that's for sure! . Well done for taking so much time to read up about your breed and thinking carefully before you got Kayden. Alot of people don't do this, then they rush out to buy one without thinking if they can afford to or not, or if they have the time and attention to give to a dog. I think that's when the neglect starts....people are just too busy and leave their dogs for hours on end in the end alone. I've actually known people to do this. Its nice to know these dogs are here are well loved and taken care of! Good Work Guys

My step dad used to have a dog, just a Heinz and it had a great party trick. He used to pretend to have a hand gun in his hand, load it then aim it at the dog. The dog would just look at him then when he pretended to shoot, it would act like it had been shot and fall over. It would stay "dead" until you said wake up. You could leave it lying there for an hour and it wouldnt move a muscle hahaha

Beautiful Alsation Carlr, another of my fav breeds.

Well done Emily on reading up on the breed before you get one. Most people dont bother.
I have been reading up on Huskys for a while now and im quite suprised at their behaviour, i have found out a few things that i would not have known that i need too, had i not read up.

For example they are known for being escape artists! Will jump a 6ft fence and dig their way out your garden lol!!
Also it says that despite their wolf like looks they are not good guard dogs. And would rather lick a burglar to death rather than attack

Also as i know they are very challenging to train. Lucky i have experience of training dogs since i was little

The pre-conceived ideas about staffys is bad though. As people dont realise they are a classic mans best friend. They love people, its other dogs you have to be careful about. But with training and brought up right they should be fine

Two live next door to us and they are a great set of dogs although one is funnily dopey but they cross over into our garden now and again and we have a bit of a scuffle and they are really gentle and intelligent.

 Then I make them both a brew and send them back round to their house.

Honestly though great dogs Rob you can't go wrong.

My Gran used to have a mixed breed dog crossed between a sausage dog and something else ( I can't remember) anyway his name was Boozy and was one of the greatest dogs I have ever known or witnessed in my life.

Now you might call me completely insane or losing the plot but the next parts are very true.

We taught him to beg which would involve him sitting up on his bum and back legs with his paws flapped over in the shape of a doggy paddle, he would sit there hours while were eating without breaking a sound until we eventually gave him something to eat.

About 4 years later he was taught to"salute" as we would call it by my auntie this involved him raising his right paw up to his eye while in the "beggin" position, yes it sounds crazy I know but the next bit is even more unbelievable.

The dog could TALK!!! No i'm not getting high at this moment in time and its the god's honest truth although others could say it was just a growl or a dogs sound which sounded like he was talking, we believed and knew it wasn't.

When we woke in the morning he would say "morning" not like us "morning dear" but in a weird but very clear way. He would also beg at the door and say "out" when he wanted to go out to do his business, again this was not an ordinary bark that sounded like out it was more of a cough but with the word clearly spoken.

Avery well trained and sorely missed dog that passed away 7 years ago close to the passing of my Grandad. I am still yet to come accross any other dog like it, it was purely once in a lifetime dog.
