Good thread Craig. In my opinion support at home makes things so much easier. I've experienced both sides of the coin. When I worked in construction, I worked seven days a week at times, together with the long hours. Our little boy was a baby and I was totally focused on bringing in the cash.

My missus believed as the boss I should have been able to take it easier. In four years I never took a holiday apart from xmas and usually worked six days a week. These methods caused a lot of arguments.

Since things went tits up in the building for me, we've went through big changes. I probably work longer hours now, but Mel has been involved in a lot of the work I've done and is 100% supportive as she knows exactly what it takes.

Big up to my boy who's nearly four, the spare room next to him is full of R/c cars, megabloks etc and he never attempts to open anything, that's support.

Its great to see how many people do get supported by their loved ones! I really do think it helps if people are involved or know whats involved in running your business. They understand much better whats required and understand the late nights.... That's what really annoyed me about this guy i was seeing....he told me to just work from 9-4/5pm, which although possible i think with any start up you have to put it the hours in to begin with.

He can, you see I explained that I'd be selling everything in the spare room and reinvesting all the cash in Ben10 toys for him.

Its quite interesting seeing the number of reply's. Only just had the chance to read through them. I have been sicky poorly for the past few days. Its interesting to see a large majority of people get the support they need from the people they live with. It's looks as though many work with or involve their partners in their business too, which is great to see.
