well yesterday came time to put new cartridges in my epson stylus sx200 printer and so i replaced the one cartridge which was the yellow. i hadn't noticed but the chip wasn't attached and i inserted it and then went to install it. all seemed fine until i went to charge the ink and it could not be recognised. so i threw it out and put another in realising the chip was missing. then a new one and this was also unrecognised

turned out i had pulled a very tiny brass contact out of the ink cradle by accident when removing the faulty ink cartridge. as i had orders to do and paper work to print i decided not to let the printer beat me as it was only 3 week old. so i fiddled with it and about 2 hours later i had managed to put the contact back in and had installed a cartridge:niceone:

Moral of the story.....

Nothing's broke until you have thrown it out your window in rage

well since i "repaired it" yeah its started making some weird groaning noise just before it kicks into full printing and also as for the splodges i've got a few in the 3 weeks i have had it and it also has the tendency to get ink all over itself on the inside.

have you noticed it uses half the ink cartridges before the nozzle check pattern prints ok?? lol

i wonder why they stopped selling these :niceone:

I paid £35 for mine from ebay with p&p. apparently it was brand new without faults and the baby had ripped the box so it was in an argos returned box with a big faulty label on the side of it!!

very luckily it actually worked!

on the lighter side of things though my new site is finally up and running! :niceone:

If you don't need to be printing glossy photos etc i always would suggest you get a laser, so much less hassle!
