HTML Website Design available!
Hi Everyone,
I'm offering HTML website design now, a couple of examples of my most recent work are the following:
www.bashstudios.co.uk
www.classicsashrestoration.com
Currently working on two websites, I've also done cubecart skins etc and php design however I do not have as much time to do these (especially PHP) so I'm only offering HTML design at the moment.
Prices are as follows:
£100 for the first page of your site
£40 per every extra page
Logo design available at an extra cost (will do a simple logo for free that fits with your site if you wish), and I will throw in hosting for one year (£35 a year after that). Sites will take around 2 weeks to complete on an average basis.
You will have to buy your own domain name (only around £8 a year if that) and I will setup email address' etc for you and give you full hosting support via msn and email.
Contact me on Lewis.Sellers@btconnect.com if you are interested, or on Msn@pinpointhosting.com, you can also post in here or send me a PM.
50% Payment required in advance via Bank Transfer, Cheque, Cash, Postal Order, Nochex, Paypal etc (all at buyers expense if fees are incurred).
Regards
Lewis Sellers

I dont mean to be negative but are you really looking to charge these prices:

I would suggest reviewing your pricing structure to bring you inline with others, also I would want full html validation on every page for that price...

Hi,
Well basically, what I am selling are HTML based sites (ie, no PHP scripting etc however they may have some javascript etc in). I create all my sites on Dreamweaver etc.....
I have had many clients and I always use the same pricing structure, I usually charge around £275 for a 5 - 6 page site though, which works out cheaper....
But its all quoting....
thanks

Go for it! I'm amazed at the variety of prices charged for what are basically similar services.
I don't do designs of any sort myself, I'm a great fan of free templates, which can be modified a bit. And I have maintained for the last 10 years that if you have the right products and prices the design of the site is secondary.
Presentation, Product, Price and Ease of Use in manuvering around the site are way more important than the design around the top, bottom and sides.
But you have made a fair presentation, and don't lead them to believe they will have something overnight. You should be able to land some jobs as a result.

Thanks Pete,
I'm not saying I am the cheapest person out there, but I can get testimonials from any of the companies I have done sites for. They were both extremely happy with there site, and I worked with them all to ensure they were happy with there site.
People sometimes pay the prices because they don't know website design at all, or because they want something that looks good. Other people go for lower prices, which sometimes you are supprised with and get a decent looking site for the price. I know for a fact that the two sites I have left examples of cost over £600 to recreate from some local website design companies near me.... (Crazy I know!)
If people are interested and like my work then i'm sure they will pay, This post may not make generate any income for me, but I found my cubecart thread got a lot of interest so I thought I would do this.
Cheers

Your prices are pretty expensive considering the international market and the cost of outsourcing these sources but like you said in comparison to most local web designers you are very cheap indeed. So Good luck with it.

Hi Densilbg,
We don't offer a SEO service, but if you visit www.rentacoder.com, you can post a bid for exactly what you need and people worldwide will bid and then you can choose the price and the description you think is best.
Alot of the people on the rent a coder site are fantastic and live in places like India so they don't expect as much money as someone in the UK would expect.
Hope this helps you.
Regards
Lewis

Lewis, I think those prices are OK. There are loads of people charging much more per page, but less for the first page. So on balance you're OK, probably a tad on the low side once you get above three-four pages. Given the bulk of the work goes into the main style sheet and overall structure, reflected in the first page you do, you are weighting it correctly, IMHO.
Mike, are there people out there still using tables for layout? I thought we were all validating these days? Maybe the competition isn't as good as I'd assumed, Lewis, so go for it!
