Default Italian polices ridiculous over reaction

Anyone watching the Manchester United game tonight should be absolutely horrified at the response of the Italian police tonight. The Roma fans started throwing missiles into the crowd which antagonised the united fans, this was allowed to go on for a few minutes at which point the united fans had had enough and ran towards the plastic riot wall (which they had no hope of getting through).

Then what happens the police steam in and start beating fans indiscriminately, there was no need for the multiple blows that were raining down on fans. Sure they were wrong in charging the wall but to get beaten even when prone on the ground, that really isn't called for.

Now I am a United fan and as such will probably be more sensitive to this but surely as a football fan no one would be prepared to see this happen, would they? Come on the football associations, you gotta react to this....

I would even be happy for United to pull out of the competition in disgust at the way that their fans have been treated, sure the fans would support them. I have got family at the game and luckily they are OK but what worries me is the effect that this will have on the return game at old trafford, if away fans are allowed then there is bound to be some serious comeback unfortunately (not that I support this but all football crews will do this).

Sorry rant over..

Yes they showed it at the half time interval on the TV. It was odd how the Police were on on the United side of the stadium and not on both.

Didn't see the whole match as I was to engrossed in both the apprentice and the England Cricket but apparently United played quite well considering Scholes was sent off 30mins or so into the game..

Yeah i saw it, disgusting!

Couple of years back 2 leeds fans were stabbed and killed in Istanbul. After is happened all the leeds fan ran out of the stadium and were blocked by the police for another fan to be killed. Absolutly ******** disgraceful.

Wherever fans go the opposing teams police are always bias.

Exactly the same with the Rangers fans in Spain. However Uefa dosent deem this a problem. They feel the need to ban a song like Hello Hello from Ibrox instead of sorting out there real problems.
