Default Free laptop

PC World are doing some deal with orange broadband to get a free laptop.

http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/edi.../?int=home_nav

To be honest the broadband package they offer is terrible but if you use the same sort of package and are due to change then it might be worth it or if you just want to get a laptop on 'cheap finance' its worth swapping then cancelling when the contract is up.
Im not going for it as I prefer a decent connection to a crummy one from orange with a laptop to make it all better , plus i have a laptop anyway.

Anyway I just thought id post as some may be intrested.

Just noticed you have to take a 24 month contract so its really not worth it.

Dell Laptop: Vista Home Basic, 1GB RAM, 80GB HD
AOL Wireless Broadband: 8Mbps Download Speed, 40GB Download Limit

There was an article in the Guardian on this on Saturday, in both cases you are going to be paying as much in rental as the RRP of the laptop. Not bad really free broadband but they are not exactly the best providers and 24 months is a long time to be stuck with a bad connection.

I've always been agains't (generally) these incentised sort of offers to join broadband and what not , because although you get something mediokre for free you will still be paying a premium price personally i would prefer the discount and a much reduced contract just so that I can use the saved money on something I want rather than a laptop my old nan would find slow. (saying that the 1GB isn't too bad)
