Found any terrorist papers on the train lately?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7449255.stm
For gods sake - heads should roll for this or is it a sneaky attempt at letting false inormation fall into the hands of terrorists?
REALLY surprised that a high ranking counter terrorist official could be doing something so stupid! (imagine travelling by train )

So we were told this week, that possible UK troops could pull out of Iraq this year!! (As if....) now we get a "lost" document that says that the Iraq trained army, arn't up to standard.
So now we will here information, about staying in just to get the Iraq forces up to standard

Have to say that sounds entirely credible. Don't you just wish the government could be straight with us for a while?

I don't think that most of the UK People are ready for the "truth" if you look at Iraq.....
1. Sadam, just before we attacked, had made a statement saying that he was going to only supply oil to his friends that would join him in a large group of like minded friends against the West. - By saying this he was asking for War, their is no way the West would allow Sadam to contol the oil.
2. WMD - Well the UK, USA and France supplied them to Iraq, so we knew he had them, but where are they now? I belive we have secured them, but due to point 1 we need the oil, so we will continue looking for them!
Now I have no issue with us being in Iraq, and I don't mind that it is to do with oil, I would much rather be on the side of the Countries that had secured the oil once all other sorces have run out.
If the people were told the truth, then I belive that we would have far more problems in this Country then we do now.

Disk encryption isn't all that hard and I'm continuously amazed at how few people use it, and the even fewer that use it correctly.
But the leaving classified documents on a train is inexcusable by any stretch of my imagination.

Jimbo i agree, and if you every get to see a military or government laptop you will find it is very encrypted.... but the problem is that someone took these documents on a train, and for what ever reason decided to leave them behind.
As per normal, I would guess its been done for a reason, the reason we will never know, but there will be a reason behind it.
At the moment in the UK, our PM is getting a hard time, over lots of things, this could even be a way of focusing the news papers on things other then him!

The really "hot stuff" is almost never kept on a laptop or even allowed to leave the facility.
I don't think those documents were a plant/honey-pot, I think it was some really bad security, or worse, a seriously botched espionage attempt and the 'good guys' got lucky.
I could also be wrong too.
